About me.
Vision
As a designer my ideal vision would be to make a difference in the world with my designs. I know this is a little farfetched, so I am aiming a little smaller. I would like to cooperate my designs in every day routines. So I don’t want to make expensive, complicated designs for the elite but just for ordinairy people. I like to make simple designs who can help you through everyday problems or just make life a little bit easier.
I am also interested in a way to make health care at home better possible and cheaper. Especially for elderly getting the help they need is not always easy or affordable. Elderly people are often too stubborn to take the step to move into an elderly home so if I could design products that can help to expand the period they can live on their own, that would be a very good cause. There are already a few products which make care a home possible but these are relatively expensive and still very unknown (see pictures), that is why I am interested in making these kind of products and making it more accessible for everyone.
In addition the healthcare insurance is getting more expensive and so is the healthcare itself. I want to design products so a part of the healthcare could be done by yourself at home, which could save allot of money. I also like to try to focus more on prevention, which is in some cases way easier than we think.
I also like the idea of making people connect through design. Therefore I would like to make interactive designs, which might be useful in an office environment or in everyday society. Especially in a world where social media and technology is becoming a bigger part of our lives I believe it is important to motivate people to still be connecting in real life through design
Identity
As a designer I am inspired by combining old and modern materials. I like the way the modern style fits into the existing parts or materials. I like bright and happy colors that maybe light up your day a little. I am an creative and outgoing person, so I think this will help me in designing products. I like simple designs which you would understand how to use by just looking at it.
I can cooperate well with all sorts of people, so I think this will help me in working together and contacting the user group. I always try to keep an open mind when meeting someone new, this helps me allot by learning about another person's view on things. By trying not to be judgemental towards people, they are more often to share more with you, this is something that could be useful for me in the future when I want to connect more with user groups.
By being open minded towards other opinions it will help me to make good compromises and this also will be helpful within the communication in project groups.
